EPL: Nicolas Jackson nets brace as Chelsea cruise to big derby win against West Ham 1

Chelsea secured their second London derby win in just a few days by thrashing West Ham 5-0 at Stamford Bridge, with Nicolas Jackson scoring two goals.

Following their victory over Tottenham on Thursday night, Chelsea had an even more comfortable afternoon in west London, effectively sealing the win within the first 45 minutes.

Cole Palmer scored his 21st Premier League goal of the season to open the scoring, followed by captain Conor Gallagher doubling the lead with a sharp volley into the bottom corner.

Thiago Silva, back from injury, made it three before half-time by nodding the ball back across goal from a corner, which Noni Madueke turned home.

Chelsea continued their dominance after the break when Madueke squared the ball for Jackson to tap in within three minutes of the restart.

The remainder of the match was largely played at a leisurely pace, with Jarrod Bowen providing West Ham’s only threat of a consolation goal.

He hit the bar twice in the first half and completed a hat-trick in front of the remaining away fans when his deflected strike looped against the woodwork.

Jackson scored his second and Chelsea’s fifth goal with ten minutes remaining, initially denied by an offside flag but ultimately awarded after VAR determined Kurt Zouma had played him onside.

Moises Caicedo provided the assist, and Jackson beat Alphonse Areola with a finish that stood as a goal.

Chelsea now occupy seventh place in the table, at least until Manchester United play Crystal Palace on Monday night, and are only two points off sixth.
