It will also put to bed the thrilling title race between Manchester City and Arsenal.

The Gunners had hoped bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur would stop City last Tuesday after they did their assignment of edging Manchester United 1-0 at Old Trafford.

It was not to be as City beat Spurs 1-0 to snatch top spot from Arsenal.

Again Arsenal are left wishing another London rival help them win the trophy as West Ham battle City at the Etihad. Mikel Arteta’s men also need to help themselves by beating Everton at home to stand a chance of winning.

Football fans and pundits, however, believe that Pep Guardiola’s City are on their way to a fourth title in a row as the Hammers have been dismissed as less likely to pose any threat to the serial winners.

In their first league encounter with West Ham this season, City triumphed 3-1, with second-half goals from Jeremy Doku, Bernardo Silva, and Erling Haaland.

Brentford vs Newcastle United
