Mark Feely: Paedophile once mistaken as a member of Westlife

Mark Feely was a TikTok star from Britain. Although he was once mistaken for being a member of the pop vocal group, Westlife, Feely walked a very dark path. According to reports, Feely was a paedophile, who preyed on minors.

So, who is Mark Feely and where he is now?

Who is Mark Feely?

Mark Feely is a well-known TikTok personality from Britain who was accused of exploiting minors by soliciting explicit videos from them via email.

A paedophile is an adult who is sexually attracted to children and Feely was the embodiment of this definition without remorse. People like Feely who see life through the ‘wrong lens’ are not accepted in society.

Although he was apprehended and convicted for his crimes, Feely was released from prison and resumed his behaviour by disguising himself and adopting new identities to continue his illicit activities.

Mark Feely and Westlife

There is a Mark in Westlife, the popular Irish pop group, but that Mark is not Mark Feely.

Hence, Mark Feely of Westlife does not exist. But Mark Feehily exists and he is a member of the musical group.

Mark Feehily, a member of Westlife

Many people mistake Mark Feehily for Mark Feely because; firstly, their names are spelt alike: Feehily and Feely, and they are homophonic (they sound familiar when pronounced).

Secondly, they both have controversial personalities. While Feely is a known paedophile, Feehily is a member of the LGBT community.

In August 2005, Feehily made a public statement to The Sun newspaper, revealing his homosexuality.

He said, “I am gay and I’m very proud of who I am. I’m not asking for any sympathy, or to be a role model to anyone else.”

Feehily acknowledged his sexual orientation when he was quite young. His family, bandmates, and close friends were aware of his sexual orientation.

Westlife

As the only gay member of Westlife, Feehily hardly speaks about his romantic life. Unlike his bandmates, he does not talk about his relationship(s) frequently in interviews.

In an interview with the Sydney Morning Herald, Feehily stated that the majority of Westlife’s fans were women, but insisted that there was no adverse reaction to his coming out.

“I am so much happier now and I think our fans can see that,” he said.

“Through the years of getting to the point where I wanted to come out, I had to go through every kind of emotion, but I can honestly say that the day before I came out, I didn’t care what the reaction was going to be.

“That was the hardest point to get to.”

In another interview with The Sun, Feehily surprisingly disclosed his romantic relationship with Kevin McDaid, a British fashion photographer and member of the now-defunct British boy band, “V”. The duo started dating in January 2005 after meeting at a Cheerios Childline Concert in Ireland, and they lived together.

“We literally got on from when we met five years ago, we’re very happy. We live together; he is literally the other half of me,” Feehily said.

“Finding Kevin really completed me. When I look back at interviews all I see is the big hole, like there’s something missing, that I needed to find somebody. He’s made me very happy and I feel lucky to have him but marriage is not something we’ve considered.”

Feehily stated that he did not plan to get married right away, but he was content to know that he could enter into a civil partnership in Britain following the passing of the Civil Partnership Act.

In December of 2007, Feehily and Kevin were on the cover of Attitude. The couple got engaged in January 2010.

However, on December 31, 2011, Feehily announced via his Twitter account that he and McDaid had separated. He wrote: “Sadly, Kevin & I are no longer together. We’ve had an amazing (sic) 7yrs & are both so thankful for the love & support u have shown us from the start.”

In 2019, Feehily married Cailean O’Neill and they currently have a daughter, who was born via surrogacy.

What sets Feely apart from Feehily is that while the sexual preference of the former is something that the general public frowns upon, the latter, on the other hand, has many people cheering him on and encouraging him to accept himself.

The 35-year-old defendant had pleaded “not guilty” to the felony charge on August 10, 2022, and was released on bail until his trial scheduled for the following month.

“This hotel, which receives funding from taxpayers, was a place where Feely stayed. This is excellent news that we have all been waiting for the safety of our children. Goodbye, Mark Feely,” the report added.

Where is Mark Feely right now?

Rumours circulating on social media recently suggest that a suspected child molester known as “Mark Feely” has been sighted in Doncaster, England.

To further dispel the rumours and fears in the hearts of the residents, the Chorley Police published a statement on its Facebook page, saying: “We are aware of rumours on social media suggesting a man called Mark Feely has moved to the Chorley area.

“We believe this is a case of mistaken identity and that these rumours are false.

“We can confirm the individual named on social media DOES NOT currently live in the Lancashire area.

“We understand that when rumours like this circulate people may become concerned.

“But, as is sometimes the case, when people start to talk about such things, stories are confused and added to as they are passed on, without any malicious intent, And after the story has been retold a few times it can become exaggerated or feel like it must be true.”

A publication, Daily Record, shared a post that encouraged residents in Rutherglen, Australia not to listen to the many posts on social media regarding Feely back in 2020.

The residents of Rutherglen expressed fear when a Facebook page warned the residents to be careful because Feely had been sighted in the area.

It was reported that Feely was moved from the Midlands to Paisley and then on to Rutherglen.
