Mark Ghanimé boasts a background as rich and multifaceted as the characters he portrays. Born on December 1, 1977, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

His Canadian mother and Lebanese father instilled in him a strong sense of identity and a remarkable linguistic fluency. Growing up between Calgary and Montreal, Ghanimé became trilingual, conversing effortlessly in French, English, and Arabic.

Early indications suggested a path far removed from the dramatic world of acting. Ghanimé excelled academically, his focus firmly set on a future in business, specifically real estate. He diligently pursued this ambition, earning a degree in finance from the University of Lethbridge in Canada.

However, a latent creative streak began to emerge in his early twenties. Ghanime enrolled in vocal lessons and hip-hop dance classes, a testament to his burgeoning desire to explore his artistic side.

Although his early foray into the acting world was inauspicious, his big break involved a background role in a film featuring actress Juliette Lewis. This initial experience served as a springboard, igniting a passion for the craft that would propel him forward.

Ghanime embarked on his acting odyssey by appearing in commercials. His inaugural major TV appearance occurred on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) show, “Wild Roses”, where he brought life to the character of Graham.

Following this breakthrough, he made numerous cameo appearances on various TV series throughout the 2010s. In 2010 alone, he made appearances on “Smallville” and “Supernatural”. The subsequent year saw him appear on “The Secret Circle” and “Fairly Legal”. He also made an appearance as a superhero on “Arrow” in 2012.

Ghanimé carved out a niche for himself as Dr. Jamie Albagetti on The CW’s medical drama, “Emily Owens, M.D.”, a journey that commenced in 2012. During the same period, he played a leading role in a web series, titled: “Soldiers of the Apocalypse”. For the production, he not only embodied the character of Daniel Goose-Egg but also donned the hat of an associate producer.

In 2013, Ghanime’s versatile talent shone through in supporting roles across diverse projects. He brought depth to the character of Run in the Showcase miniseries, “Eve of Destruction”. He also breathed life into the role of a museum curator in the Hallmark Channel television movie, “The Hunters.”

Ghanime reached a career milestone in 2014 when he landed a significant role as a series regular in the Syfy original series, “Helix”. Portraying Major Sergio Ballesteros, he led a team of CDC scientists in investigating a disease outbreak at a remote research facility in the Arctic.

In 2015, Ghanimé secured a recurring role as Don Carlos in the third season of The CW series “Reign”. Additionally, he appeared as Justin Faysal in the Chiller horror anthology series, “Slasher”, in 2016.

The actor made recurring appearances in 2017 in the second season of “Private Eyes”, where he portrayed the romantic interest of the main character, Angie Everett.

In 2023, Ghanimé took on the role of Sam Calloway in “To All a Good Night”. Presently, Ghanime appears as Dr. Cameron Hayek in Netflix’s “Virgin River”.
