A Texas couple stated that they waited nearly two years before kissing on their wedding day, claiming that the wait made the gesture “even more special.”
Keylin Akuchie told SWNS that she met her now-husband Eleazer Akuchie in 2019 at the Christ For The Nations Institute and instantly fell in love with him, albeit it took Akuchie three years to ask her out on a date.

Because of their shared religious principles, Keylin and Eleazer created “strong physical boundaries,” according to the bride.
“I had never kissed anyone before — I wanted the first person I kissed to be the person I married,” Eleazer Akuchie, 25, stated to SWNS. “We really wanted to get to know each other and connect emotionally and spiritually before we got into any physical stuff.”
Keylin, 24, and her husband reported that while most people were supportive of their decision, they did receive a few “raised eyebrows.”
“I think everyone thought our choice was weird,” she recalled, claiming that the most common question they got was, “What if they’re a bad kisser?”
“The day of our wedding, I remember walking down the aisle and thinking everyone would see me kiss him — what if we miss our lips?,” laughed Keylin, calling the moment “nerve-wracking.”
Her husband admitted that the long-awaited kiss was “weird at first,” but it was “nice.”

The happy couple announced that they have since shared “a million-bazillion kisses a day.”
“Now we get to enjoy the physical aspects of marriage and it’s even more special to have waited,” rued Keylin, who, with her partner, thinks their relationship is proof that chastity builds a strong bond.
