Ralyx Price: Promising teenage cheerleader whose dreams were cut short

When an ambitious adolescent such as Ralyx Price bounces animatedly, it indicates that such a person is full of life, jovial and ecstatic. Such feelings are only natural for people in that young age bracket, who have little or nothing to worry about the things of life.

However, when the dreams of young people are suddenly cut short by the icy hands of death, such joy suddenly vanishes and is replaced by despair, unhappiness and mourning.

So, who was Ralyx Price, a talented young lady with hopes of being big in the future, but who fell off her perch?

Ralyx Grace Price was born on October 4, 2006, in Cobb County, situated in the US state of Georgia. She was the daughter of Whitney Nicole Jones and Ricky Thomas Price.

The late Price has been described as a person who was lovely on the inside and out, whose laugh and smile are contagious, and whose presence brought joy to every room. She was a member of the Bremen High School, Georgia and was a part of the school’s cheerleading squad. In her junior high school year, Ralyx was a dance enthusiast.

She was said to have always shown compassion, awareness, and regard for others that were beyond her years. Her spirit was compassionate, according to her tributes. Her friendship could be trusted. Ralyx was reputed to have a wonderful personality and was well-known for being imaginative and lively. She was steady, kind, and attentive.

The late Price is survived by her sister, Laina Claire Vines; maternal grandparents, Lisa and Richie Grimshaw of Bremen; aunts and uncles: Kyle and Tabitha Garner, Andrew and Courtney Benjamin, Trey and Tiffany Travis; and cousins, Zed Garner, Ben Garner, Kase Garner, Juanita Benjamin, Garner Benjamin, and Quade Travis.

Price was a cheerleader for her school’s basketball team, Bremen High School. She was well-known among her peers. She was said to be very passionate about both her education and her job as a team promoter. She was recognised for her enthusiasm and her efforts for her team. 

Bremen City Schools is a four-school district that serves students in grades Pre-K through 12th grade.

Cause of death

Price passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2022, at the age of 16. According to reports, Price died as a result of natural causes. She was found unresponsive during the weekend and she was declared dead.

There have been several misconceptions regarding the death of Price. Some online sources have claimed that her cause of death may have been the result of an automobile accident, but there is no confirmation of this narrative. According to Price’s family, she was found unresponsive and is said to have died of a natural cause.

The entire Bremen community in the US state of Georgia paid tribute to Price, as numerous condolences and prayers flooded social media in the wake of her untimely death. A local of the community wrote this on their Facebook page; Our community is broken, but our community is stronger for the weekend that was fought in prayer, in union for this precious child and her family.

The Bremen High School Football Stadium hosted the funeral ceremonies for Price on Saturday, March 5, 2022. Jay Webb officiated the event. A tribute to Ralyx was given on stage by Rick Price, Trey Travis, and Courtney Benjamin. Following Matt Young’s sermon, there was an interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

The Bremen neighbourhood conducted several prayer gatherings, including a night vigil on the basketball court of Bremen High School. The school’s students and faculty were devastated by her loss and subsequently shared a photo of Price with the statement: “Until we meet again, sweet Blue Devil.”

A family acquaintance claimed that Price’s parents decided to donate her organs.

Before her untimely death, Price was active on Instagram, where she shared a few photos. The young cheerleader had 1,990 followers on her Instagram page, with the handle @ralyx.price_.
