What is Zambian Meat?
Zambian meat is an act of cannibalism. The term refers to when a person finds another person who is willing to be killed and eaten. Zambian Meat also refers to “any sort of meat”, but it has mostly been associated with eating human flesh.
There are two psychological reasons why people get involved in Zambian meat. The first stems from the fact that humans are considered “food” by other humans. Secondly, eating another human is proof of power over those they have killed. In other words, the human flesh eater or cannibal considers themselves above humans and, therefore, needs to prove their superiority over these beings to satisfy their hunger.

Zambian meat website
The Zambian meat website is an online platform where people find partners that are willing to be killed and eaten. It is also a website where cannibals share intimate fantasies about killing and eating willing partners. The website was reportedly first established in Germany. However, it gained notoriety in 2013 when a German cannibal killer, Detlev Guenzel, was arrested and convicted for killing a Polish businessman named Wojciech Stempniewicz.
According to court reports, Guenzel had met Stempniewicz online, where the Polish businessman used the alias “LongpigHeszla” on a Zambian meat website. Stempniewicz reportedly harboured fantasies about being killed and eaten. For a year, he searched online for someone willing to fulfil his fantasy. He finally sent a message to someone with the username “Butcher755” on the Zambian meat forum in November 2012. In the message, he had asked for a device designed to winch up a corpse after it had been killed.

He wrote: “Can you describe a little more the room and your equipment? Did you check the load-bearing capacity of the rods? Will it withstand my weight?”
In November 2013, Stempniewicz found another member of the cannibal website with the username “Caligula”. Caligula turned out to be Guenzel who was a police forensic specialist. They both arranged a meeting and on November 4, 2013, Guenzel picked up from a bus station in Dresden and drove him to the bed and breakfast that he operated with a gay man in the Erzgebirge Mountains.
In the testimony of the first trial, Guenzel led Stempniewicz down to the basement of the B&B where he slashed the victim’s throat and collected his blood in an old paint can. However, authorities began to search for Stempniewicz after his fiancee, a Russian woman identified as Svetlana, called the police to report that he had not returned home. Guenzel was eventually identified as a prime suspect after investigators traced ‘Caligula’ through computer messages and telephone calls he had exchanged with Stempniewicz.
In 2014, Guenzel was arrested at the police headquarters where he worked as a handwriting specialist in the forensics department. He confessed to chopping up the victim’s body but denied killing the victim. Guenzel claimed the victim hung himself and he did not eat him. The police discovered Stempniewicz’s dismembered corpse outside in Guenzel’s garden. However, his penis and one testicle were missing. During the trial, it was revealed that Guenzel spent five hours chopping up Stempniewicz’s body in the basement.
In April 2015, Guenzel was found guilty of killing Stempniewicz and sentenced to eight-and-a-half years in jail. However, his sentence was overturned by Germany’s Supreme Court based on the fact that the suicide defence was not “adequately probed” during the first trial.
In the second trial, Guenzel was found guilty of murder and disturbing the peace of the dead. The prosecution sought life imprisonment for the cannibal but the judges turned down their request since evidence showed Stempniewicz wanted to die.
Hence, Guenzel’s original eight-and-a-half-year jail sentence was extended by just one month.
