Onome Ebi, the captain of Nigeria’s women’s national football team, the Super Falcons, expressed her deep appreciation for her former coach, Paul Okwudili Nnakwe, also known as Palepa.

In an Instagram video, she honoured him for his instrumental role in shaping her football career when she was a young amateur player.

In the heartfelt video, Onome Ebi credited Coach Palepa for not only teaching her how to play soccer but also instilling crucial lessons that contributed to her development as a player. She acknowledged him as a pivotal figure in her life, referring to him as her father figure, particularly after the passing of her biological father.

Onome Ebi used the opportunity to convey her gratitude to Coach Palepa, recognizing his role in her journey to becoming a professional football player and a captain of the Super Falcons. Her heartfelt message underscores the lasting impact that coaches can have on their players’ lives and careers.

“You taught me how to play soccer. Yes, I knew how to play, but you put everything in my mind that made me who I am today.

“Today, I want to say thank you and let you know that after my father’s passing, you are like a second father to me. Thank you very much for everything,” she said.
