A Nigerian woman named Sarah Francis sparked reactions on social media after a video showed her using soap and a sponge to wash okro.
In the viral video, she explained why she washes okro with soap before cooking it.

According to Francis, she washes her okro with soap because of the many hands that touched it before she purchased it.
She added that okro is not something that the skin can be peeled, hence the need to wash it properly before cooking.
Francis admitted that it takes time but advised people who can spare a few minutes to ensure washing the vegetable before they cook it.
