Sam Alexis Woods is the first child of a professional golfer, Tiger Woods, and his former wife, the Swedish model, Elin Nordegren. Woods was born on June 18, 2007, in the United States of America. She gained media attention due to her famous parents, particularly her father’s successful golf career.

Tiger Woods fostered his daughter’s passion for sports right from the start. He mentioned that he introduced Woods to golf at an early age, placing a golf club in her hands when she was only a few weeks old even though she could not quite grip it yet. As early as six months old, Woods started attending her father’s golf competitions, marking the beginning of numerous occasions where she could be seen cheering him on from the crowd.

There was even a time when she served as his caddy. While it appears that she may now have a greater interest in soccer rather than golf, Woods has expressed that having his children present at his golfing events holds immense significance to him.

During her father’s induction into the World Golf Hall of Fame, Woods had the opportunity to pay tribute to him. In her introductory speech, she talked about the challenges that her father triumphed over, specifically mentioning his recent and severe car accident just a few months earlier.

“We weren’t sure if you would return home with both legs intact. And now, not only are you on the verge of being inducted into the Hall of Fame, but you’re standing right here on your own two feet. This is precisely why you deserve this honour. You are a fighter, continuously defying the odds,” Woods expressed.

Woods has also achieved success as an equestrian. She started horseback riding at a young age and has participated in various equestrian competitions. In 2019, she emerged victorious in a contest held at the South Florida Hunter Jumper Association Junior/Amateur Finals. Her passion for horses and equestrian sports is a shared interest with her mother, Nordegren, who was also deeply involved in the world of equestrianism.

Tiger Woods, born on December 30, 1975, in Cypress, California, is a name that resonates deeply in the world of golf. From a young age, Woods displayed exceptional talent and determination, setting him on a path to becoming one of the greatest golfers of all time.

Woods’ journey began under the guidance of his father, Earl Woods, who recognised his son’s potential at an early age. Introduced to golf at the tender age of two, Woods quickly displayed a natural aptitude for the sport. By the time he was a teenager, Woods had already achieved remarkable milestones, including winning multiple Junior World Golf Championships.

Woods attended Stanford University and showcased his exceptional skills on the collegiate level. He dominated the amateur golf scene, winning three consecutive U.S. Amateur Championships from 1994 to 1996. Woods became the first golfer to win three consecutive titles since the legendary Bobby Jones.

In 1996, at the age of 20, Woods turned professional and embarked on a career that would redefine the sport. His debut season showcased his immense talent and electrifying playing style. In 1997, he secured his first major championship victory at the Masters Tournament and broke several records in the process. Woods’ dominance continued as he won several tournaments and he reached the number-one spot in the Official World Golf Ranking in 1997.

One of the most iconic phases of Woods’ career came between 2000 and 2001 when he achieved an unprecedented feat known as the “Tiger Slam”. He won four consecutive major championships, including the U.S. Open, The Open Championship, PGA Championship, and the Masters. This extraordinary accomplishment solidified his status as a golfing legend.

Woods’ has, however, faced significant challenges in his life in the late 2000s and early 2010s. His highly publicised marital issues and subsequent divorce from Elin Nordegren had an impact on his career. Additionally, Woods faced numerous injuries that hampered his performance on the course.

Despite these setbacks, Woods staged multiple comebacks. In 2018, he secured his 80th PGA Tour win, equaling Sam Snead’s record. His victory at the 2019 Masters Tournament, after a gap of 11 years, was an emotional and triumphant moment for Woods and his fans.

On February 23, 2021, Woods was involved in a serious car accident in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. The crash was a single-vehicle collision, with Woods being the only person in the car. The vehicle was travelling north on Hawthorne Boulevard in California.

Following the accident, Woods was transported to the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center via ambulance. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department initiated an investigation into the incident, stating that the car had sustained significant damage. It was reported that Woods was driving at a speed of over 80 mph, nearly twice the posted speed limit, before the crash. However, no charges were filed.

According to Woods’s agent, he suffered multiple leg injuries as a result of the accident. He underwent surgery to address these injuries, which were described as non-life-threatening.

Beyond his golfing achievements, Woods has established a remarkable legacy through his philanthropic endeavours. He founded the Tiger Woods Foundation, which focuses on educational programs and provides opportunities for underprivileged children. The foundation’s initiatives include the Tiger Woods Learning Center, which offers educational support and career development programmes.

In November 2003, Tiger Woods got engaged to Elin Nordegren, a Swedish model. Nordegren is the daughter of Barbro Holmberg, a former Swedish minister of migration, and Thomas Nordegren, a radio journalist. Woods and Nordegren were introduced to each other during The Open Championship in 2001 by Swedish golfer, Jesper Parnevik, who had employed Nordegren as an au pair.

Woods and Nordegren tied the knot on October 5, 2004, at the Sandy Lane resort in Barbados. They initially resided in Isleworth, a community in Windermere, a suburb of Orlando, situated in the U.S. state of Florida. In 2006, they purchased an estate worth $39 million in Jupiter Island, Florida, where they began construction on a 10,000-square-foot home.

Their relationship, however, hit a purple patch. Despite attempts to reconcile them, Woods and Nordegren officially announced their separation in December 2009. In August 2010, the couple’s divorce was finalised. The terms of the divorce settlement were not publicly disclosed, but reports suggested that Nordegren received a significant financial settlement, estimated to be around $100 million.

Following their divorce, Woods and Nordegren focused on co-parenting their two children. They have made efforts to maintain a cordial and amicable relationship, prioritising the well-being and upbringing of their children.

On March 18, 2013, Woods publicly announced that he was dating Olympic gold medal skier Lindsey Vonn. However, their relationship ended in May 2015. From November 2016 to August 2017, Woods was rumoured to be in a relationship with stylist Kristin Smith.

Following that, Woods entered into a relationship with Erica Herman, a restaurant manager, starting in late 2017. Their relationship lasted until late 2022. However, in early 2023, Herman filed a lawsuit against Woods regarding a non-disclosure agreement, alleging that it violated the Speak Out Act. She claimed that she was owed $30 million as an oral agreement had been breached when employees of Woods’ trust “locked her out of the residence, removed her personal belongings, and informed her she could not return”.
