WhatsApp set to allow users stay logged in to two accounts at once

Top 10 most used social media in Nigeria

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated Thursday that WhatsApp is rolling out the option to switch between accounts on Android, and you won’t have to carry around an extra device or constantly log out of your account to do so.

This new feature will make it easier to manage discussions across various accounts, such as if you have one WhatsApp account for work and another for chatting with friends and family. It’ll be available in the coming weeks.

If you wish to set up a second account, Meta says you’ll still need a separate phone number and SIM card (or a phone that accepts multi-SIM or eSIM).

You’ll also need the second phone or its SIM card to receive the one-time passcode sent via SMS by WhatsApp to gain access to your second account on a different device.

According to WhatsApp spokesperson Ellie Heatrick, after this first authentication, the programme will continue to work for both accounts without needing a second device or SIM card.
