Napoli forward, Victor Osimhen has made a surprising switch to Turkish Super League club, Galatasaray, on one-year loan, following a fallout with Napoli and head coach Antonio Conte.
The deal, which sees Galatasaray fully covering Osimhen’s salary, does not include an option to buy.

The loan move comes shortly after the collapse of Osimhen’s anticipated transfer to Chelsea, as negotiations between the player and the Premier League club failed.
The agreement with Galatasaray has also led to a reduction in Osimhen’s release clause at Napoli, bringing it down to €75 million – a key point during negotiations aimed at making a future transfer more achievable.
Tensions between Osimhen and Napoli have grown, casting doubt on his future with the club. Coach Antonio Conte has made it clear that Osimhen is not in his plans, a position further highlighted by the signing of Romelu Lukaku as Napoli’s new number 9.
Although Napoli has offered Osimhen a contract extension until 2027, the strained relationship makes it unlikely that he will remain with the club beyond the loan period.
Once a key figure at Napoli, Osimhen’s move to Galatasaray could signal the beginning of a permanent departure from the Italian side. As the situation evolves, it remains uncertain whether this loan move is a temporary fix or a step towards a definitive exit from Napoli.
