Torrei Hart was born on February 28, 1978, in Philadelphia, the United States of America. She was raised in New Jersey and grew up in a decent household. She has two siblings: a brother and a sister, all of the African-American descent.

Torrei Hart started acting and performing in the arts at a very young age. She made an impression on her peers at Winslow Township High School by the time she was in her teens. She graduated from there in 1996 after appearing in multiple school productions.

Despite facing numerous challenges growing up, Torrei Hart has always had a passion for the performing arts and pursued it relentlessly. Torrei later enrolled at the Community College of Philadelphia, where she met Kevin Hart, a fellow performer and comedian with whom she kick-started her career. She currently resides in Los Angeles, California.

Torrei Hart began her career in the entertainment industry as an actress and producer. But before she began to gain any form of prominence, she put in immense work in pursuit of a successful career. As a college student, Torrei and her then-boyfriend Kevin Hart came to the realisation that they both had a love for humour.

Together, they quit college, devoted themselves to their professions in entertainment, and moved to Los Angeles to fulfil their goals. In 2003, Torrei and Kevin Hart got married and continued to forge a career in Hollywood and comedy.

While living in Los Angeles, Torrei Hart was pushing towards her career path, juggling maintaining her audition schedules with being a mum to her two young kids. At this point, Kevin Hart’s career flourished. Eventually, she landed several acting roles in films like Soul Plane, in which she starred alongside her then-husband and Nickelodeon’s Parental Discretion. She also appeared in national commercials for eBay and Toyota.

Also, Torrei Hart served as an executive producer, co-writer, and lead actor in her short film, titled “Victim of Circumstance,” which garnered considerable acclaim in the short film domain and won several accolades.

In addition to her acting career, Torrei Hart is also a successful businesswoman and philanthropist. To assist women in overcoming trauma, she and her sister founded the non-profit organization S.O.A.R. in 2013.
