Born Tiwatope Savage on February 5, 1980, in Isale Eko, Lagos State, Nigeria, Tiwa relocated with her parents to the United Kingdom for her secondary education when she was 11. She later moved to the United States, playing the trombone in her high school orchestra band.

Tiwa Savage’s net worth was mostly from her successful hit songs. She began her professional music career at 16 when she did backup vocals for superstars like George Michael, Mary J Blige, Chaka Khan, Blu Cantrell, Emma Bunton, Kelly Clarkson, Andrea Bocelli and Ms Dynamite.

Tiwa attended the Berklee College of Music to polish her career. In 2006, she participated in the X Factor UK and advanced to the final 24. But she was the 12th person to be eliminated from the show.
