President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Dr. Olayemi Cardoso as the new governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
This is according to a statement released on Friday by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale.

The statement is titled ‘President Tinubu nominates the new CBN governor and management team for Senate screening and confirmation.’
Cardoso will replace the acting Governor of the CBN, Folashodun Shonubi, if confirmed by the Senate.

President Tinubu also approved the nomination of four new Deputy Governors of the Central Bank of Nigeria for a term of five years in the first instance, pending their confirmation by the Senate.
They include Mrs. Emem Usoro, Mr. Muhammad Dattijo, Mr. Philip Ikeazor, and Dr. Bala M. Bello.
