Thali García is a Mexican actress who has steadily built an impressive career in television over the past two decades. After moving to Mexico City at age 17, she began her journey as a presenter on the Nickelodeon Latin America programme, “Nickers”, before transitioning into acting roles.

Thali García, born on March 14, 1990, in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico, grew up immersed in a culturally rich environment that sparked her early interest in the performing arts. She relocated to Mexico City at 17 to chase her acting ambitions.

García’s education involved theatre and performance programmes, which helped refine her talents. She started her career as a presenter on Nickers, a children’s show on Nickelodeon Latin America, before moving into telenovelas. Her introduction to show business began in 2000 when she participated in the Nuestra Belleza Infantil Sonora contest.

Her significant breakthrough came in 2007 with her participation in the Televisa reality show, High School Musical: La Selección, a talent search for the Mexican version of High School Musical. During this show, she performed alongside future television and music stars like Jorge Blanco.

Following this, García moved to Mexico City to further her burgeoning acting career. Her debut in telenovelas came with “Secretos del alma”, a TV Azteca production. Although her role was minor, she gained recognition and was offered further opportunities.

García has undertaken a diverse array of projects. In 2008, she landed her first notable hosting role on the Mexican version of the youth programme, “Nickers”, produced by Nickelodeon Latin America. She reprised her hosting duties in 2011 on the TV Azteca show “Top Ten”, which presented the week’s most popular music hits. She anchored the show for a year. Also in 2011, García continued her television career by acting in the Mexican series, Bienvenida Realidad, produced by Sony and Argos Comunicación. This series, an adaptation of a Chilean show, dealt with adolescent issues such as sexuality and drug addiction.

In 2012, García appeared in the Mexican-American soap opera, Rosa Diamante, produced by Argos Comunicación. The following year, she found success with the Nickelodeon Latin America series, 11-11: En mi cuadra nada cuadra, in which a young man conjures an older version of himself to help find his mysteriously disappeared mother. Her role in this series earned her a nomination for “Favourite Actress” at the Kids’ Choice Awards in Mexico. Simultaneously, she appeared in the TV Azteca production, Hombre Tenías que Ser.

In 2014, García was featured in the telenovela series, Reina de Corazones, produced by Telemundo. The following year, she returned to TV Azteca to feature in UEPA! Un Escenario Para Amar, a youth telenovela that gained some popularity. García received positive reviews for her performance in the series.

Between 2016 and 2017, she worked with Telemundo, portraying “Angie” in the soap opera, Silvana Sin Lana, where she played a mother of two daughters left destitute by a scammer.

From 2018 to 2019, García gained recognition for her role in the well-known series, Las Buchonas, produced by W Studios and Lemon Studios for Televisa. In this series, she played the lead role of Manuela, a woman drawn into the world of crime, power, and money.

Additionally, in 2019, García appeared in the romantic comedy telenovela, Un poquito tuyo, produced by Imagen Televisión, where she starred alongside actors such as Solkin Ruz, Carlos Speitzer and Josh Gutiérrez.

Furthermore, García has explored both cinema and theatre. In cinema, she starred in Frecuencias, produced in 2011 by the Mexican Association of Independent Filmmakers (AMCI). She also took part in a small film project titled, Tomorrow I’m Going to Conquer Her, directed by Danny Hastings and Gerardo Ortiz.

García launched a YouTube channel where she posted vlog-style content to connect more closely with her fans and followers. In one video, she revealed that she has hypothyroidism, specifically Hashimoto’s disease. In 2021, García returned to music through her YouTube channel, releasing the song “Por Accidente” in collaboration with Chino G.

Her career marked another highlight in February 2022 as she was featured in the remake of the 1979 hit soap opera, “Los Ricos También Lloran”. This remake was part of the Dream Factory franchise, where Televisa revisited its classic novels. In the 2022 series, García played the character “Sofía” and featured alongside other notable actors, such as Dobrina Cristeva, Mimi Morales, Antonio Fortier, Hugo Catalán, José Luis Franco and Fabiola Guajardo.

  • 11-11: En mi cuadra nada cuadra (2013): 11-11: En mi cuadra nada cuadra is a teen telenovela that aired on Nickelodeon Latin America from June 3 to September 13, 2013. The story revolves around Enrique “Kike” Calderón, a young man who moves into building 11-11 and falls in love with Sandra Jiménez, portrayed by García.
  • Hombre tenías que ser (2013): García had a recurring role in the series, portraying the character Gaby Álvarez.
  • Reina de corazones(2014): Reina de corazones is a telenovela that aired on Telemundo from January 13 to May 23, 2014. It is a remake of the 1998 Venezuelan telenovela of the same name. García had a recurring role in the series as Camila de Rosas.
  • Un poquito tuyo(2019): Un poquito tuyo is a Mexican telenovela produced by Imagen Televisión in 2019. It is an adaptation of the Chilean telenovela Tranquilo papá created by Rodrigo Bastidas. García portrays Viviana Solano, one of the main characters.
  • Los ricos también lloran(2022): Los ricos también lloran is a 2022 Mexican telenovela that aired on TelevisaUnivisión. It is a remake of the classic 1979 telenovela of the same name. García plays Sofía Mandujano in the series.

García is married to Felipe Aguilar. Their love story began in 2017 when they fell in love and started a relationship. After living together for several years, they decided to get married in both a civil and church ceremony in February 2021.

The couple celebrated their special day with a small wedding, featuring three dress changes and a delightful cocktail party. This moment, which they had eagerly awaited, had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Garcia and Aguilar have a son named Andrés Aguilar García. For Garcia, this was her second child, as she had a daughter from her previous marriage.

Before meeting Aguilar, García was married but, in 2018, she announced her separation from her ex-husband.

She stated: “Not all couples separate due to lack of love or infidelity. Sometimes, despite wanting to walk the same path together, it doesn’t work out.
