Spain clinched a historic fourth European Championship title by defeating England 2-1 in a thrilling Euro 2024 final held on Sunday in Berlin.

The breakthrough came shortly after halftime when Nico Williams, one of Spain’s standout players of the tournament, scored with a precise shot into the bottom corner following an excellent pass from the 17-year-old sensation Lamine Yamal.

England levelled the match midway through the second half with a stunning left-footed strike from Cole Palmer, who found the net from outside the box, reigniting their hopes at the Olympiastadion.

However, with less than five minutes left in regulation time, Spain reclaimed the lead.

Mikel Oyarzabal scored from a pinpoint pass by Marc Cucurella, sealing the victory and capping off an outstanding tournament for La Roja.

This triumph marks Spain’s fourth Euro title, adding to their victories in 1964, 2008, and 2012.

For England, the defeat was a bitter disappointment, marking their second consecutive European Championship heartbreak following their penalty shootout loss to Italy in Euro 2020.
