The fan, seeking anonymity, had asked Simi for guidance on navigating her parents’ likely disapproval of the relationship.
Simi emphasized that the decision depends on what both parties want out of the relationship, highlighting that having a child, especially from a previous relationship, is a significant factor.
She noted that it shows how involved the man is in his child’s life and how attached or detached the fan is to this aspect.
Simi cautioned against making decisions solely on emotions, advising the fan to consider the long-term implications. “If you’re only doing this because you ‘love him so much’, don’t,” she said.
Instead, Simi suggested trusting that the fan’s parents will understand and support her decision or being prepared to make the choice without their approval.
However, she reminded the fan of the significant age gap and potential life experience differences.
“You’re an adult, but you’re still mad young. He’s seen more life than you. So make sure you’re sure outside of him,” Simi concluded.
The singer’s advice instantly sparked a mix of reactions, with some praising her honesty while others debated the age gap and parental dynamics.
