A hearth-broken man has tearfully narrated how a lady he sponsored through school dumped him two months before her graduation.
The video of the Kenyan man was shared by Facebook user Betty Opondo, who advised people against sponsoring others through school.
In the 30 seconds clip, the distraught man, wearing a construction helmet, a blue shirt, and jeans, told people standing by that he spent a total of KSh 620,000, the equivalent of N2.1 million on the lady.
Speaking in his dialect, the unidentified man who wailed during his speech claimed that he spent huge sums of money on the education of a lady he called Phoebe.
“This woman decides to eat my money when it’s only two months to her graduation (cries). She ate my money, she ate 620,000. In 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022, Phoebe ate my money,’’ he said.
Social media reacts
The post has so far generated a heated discussion about the kind of commitments people make in relationships
One Facebook user, Kosgei Hillary, suggested that many men have fallen victim to such occurrences.
He said: ‘’The victims are all over. Wengine wanakausha but the amazing thing is how the gender is able to outdo the other gender mathematically”
Another man, Machenry Opiyo, described the man’s action as a mistake. He said he does not see himself ever falling for such.
However, Otieno Jack Otieno, made some harsh comments when he described the kindness shown by the heartbroken man as stupid.
”This man is very very stupid to the highest order,’’ he said.
