On March 24, 1988, Ruth Kadiri was born in Benin City, Edo State. She is the first of two children born into the family of Desmond Kadiri. Her younger sister, Eis, is currently a businesswoman and movie production manager.
Kadiri attended First Foundation College, Ajeromi, for her secondary education. She got a National Diploma in Business Administration from Yaba College of Technology. She subsequently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from the University of Lagos.
Kadiri discovered her passion for acting when she was in secondary and began following it religiously. She started writing stories for dramas while in school.
After completing her academic education, Kadiri ventured into Nollywood. Her first audition was at the Wale Adenuga studios. She made her debut in the movie Boys Cot. She, however, came to prominence when she starred in the 2017 blockbuster, In Your Arms.
She has more than 50 films to her credit since she made her debut. She has gained a lot of popularity playing the roles of the obedient wife, single woman sought out by men and many others. She is also known for playing the role of an evil woman while also playing some characters that empower women.
Asides from being an actor, Kadiri is also a screenwriter who has contributed to several films, such as Matters Arising, Heart of a Fighter, Ladies Men, Sincerity, First Class, and Over the Edge.

Kadiri caused a stir in 2016 when she shared a controversial photo of herself posing with her female friends in a manner deemed obscene and controversial on Instagram. Some individuals believed it was her way of coming out of the closet to indicate she was lesbian.
Soon, many people left comments on her Facebook page, labelling her as a homosexual searching for free publicity. The actress decided to remain silent, unlike many of her colleagues who would typically hit out at fans who made offensive comments. When asked in an interview if she was lesbian, Kadiri stated that she was not, insisting that the image was a harmless picture she took with her friends.
Even though the actress has made every effort to maintain her privacy and lead a regular life, she has been accused of dating several men, including Apostle Johnson Suleman, the General Overseer of Omega Ministries. At a time, she was also said to be dating Eddie Watson, a Ghanaian actor of Liberian descent. The rumours popped up probably because of their chemistry while on screen.
