In a video released today, the street-hop musician attributed the absence of protests in Sango to the residents’ newfound sense of empowerment, stating that they no longer consider themselves “slaves.”
He highlighted the bustling activity in Sango, showcasing the people’s focus in finding ways to help themselves due to the government’s failure to provide assistance despite past demonstrations.
The singer’s comments have generated angry reactions, with netizens criticizing his stance as insensitive.
Portable’s statement comes after he faced backlash for saying the #EndBadGovernance protests were for the poor, sparking outrage among many Nigerians.
