Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, also known as Portable, has been captured on tape assaulting his protegee, Mannie Monie.
In the video, which is posted on Twitter, Portable was seen striking Mannie with kicks and punches while accusing him of being ungrateful.
The Zeh Nation record label boss, who had bragged about his signee and promoted his music career, justified his outburst.
According to him, Mannie had engaged two distributors without his knowledge.
“Manny, you scam boy, you’re a scam boy,” he said in part. “I turned you to a musician. Why are you blackmailing me? I signed you under me, we wrote a document, so why are you using two distributors?”
Portable also recounted in the video how he bought clothes, promoted, and changed the artiste’s phone, adding that the signee chose to betray him despite everything. And explaining why Mannie is yet to become popular in the music industry, Portable said it was because of his indecision.
According to Portable, the young artiste should either stick with music or scamming rather than combine both.
“If you want to do music, do music, if you want to do scams, do scams. These boys are scams,” he said angrily.
