Popular Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, aka Portable, has sparked reactions on social media after he lashed at those who sprayed him with cash vouchers at a recent show.
While lamenting on the situation, he went further to officially reveal his own ‘currency’ that would now be sprayed on him at shows.
Portable joined the league of Nigerian singers like veteran Fuji musician, Kwam 1 and contemporary alte singer, Segun Johnson to create his own currency to be sprayed at his shows. During his official unveiling of “Zeh currency” as he dubbed it, Portable stated that it became important for him to create his own currency because of the current naira scarcity in the country.
The singer also criticised President Muhammadu Buhari, saying that the current state of the country necessitated this, and that his team had to get creative looking for ways to make money.
The video generated lots of comments from fans as some noted that the singer wasn’t sprayed with fake money but vouchers that are equivalent to money.
