A video of Nigerian police officers distributing bottled water and biscuits to protesters in Lagos has gone viral on the internet.

In the video shared by TheCable, members of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), who are protesting over the biting economic hardship in the country, could be heard saying, ‘Police is our friend’ as they received the provisions being shared.

Several packs of bottled water and cartons of biscuits were spotted at the back of the police van.

The video sparked reactions online, with Nigerians sharing their thoughts.
