In an X post, Nigerian commenter, Gift Oliseneku sparked a debate on the widely held notion that “money isn’t everything.”
She challenged the downplay of money, arguing instead that it plays a crucial role in modern life.

Oliseneku, sharing her perspective on the topic, emphasized that while there are other factors that contribute to a fulfilling life, financial stability is fundamental.
She remarked, “Money is an essential part of life. Yes, women like money, and I do too. I always pray for more because depending on others for survival is not an ideal situation.”
Her statement reflects a growing sentiment that financial independence is key to personal empowerment and well-being.
She further advised against underestimating the utility of money, suggesting that without it, even self-worth could be challenged. “We all need money,” Oliseneku noted, “so don’t talk down on it. The only truth is that while chasing money, one should remain humane, kind, or at the very least, fair.”
In contrast, another social media user, Tadyjerry, presented a counterpoint. He asserted that while money is important, it should not be treated as an ultimate value or goal. “People today have turned chasing money into a religion,” Tadyjerry claimed.
He added, “Those who love money can often be the most inhumane individuals. Money is important, but it isn’t everything and cannot solve all problems, despite what some may believe.”

MONEY ISN'T EVERYTHING.
Not downplaying it's value but it's not just the value people place on it. People today have turned chasing money into RELIGION.
People who love money are the most inhumane people you'll meet.
Money is important but it's not everything, it can't even… https://t.co/8xsQhIlXUM
