Nosa Afolabi, professionally known as  Lasisi Elenu, a popular comedian and skit maker, has stated that stand-up comedy is more difficult than skit creation.

In a recent Hip TV interview, the Kwara-born humour merchant discussed the financial differences and level of work required for stand-up comedy versus skit-making.

“Both [stand-up comedy and skit-making] have a different feel,” stated Lasisi Elenu. “In stand-up comedy, there is a lot of pressure. You must be on top of your game, and you must have various resources on hand in case you utilize one and it is not up to par. It is critical to do so.

“However, skit-making has become a part of me; something I can do at any time, from sleep to work. I know how to tune myself in. Yes, both [stand-up comedy and skit-writing] are profitable. It simply depends on how you channel… In truth, it is not how hard you work but how clever you work that matters.

“So it is not about generating the most skit videos; it is about channeling them to the appropriate outlets and branding them in such a way that you get paid for them. I feel that either skits or stand-up comedy can provide you with the financial rewards you seek,” the comic said.
