Nigerian palm wine tapper builds mansion, buys Benz, sponsors wife’s varsity education

A Nigerian man who taps palm wine has built a mansion using a profession typically thought to be for the impoverished.

In addition to his mansion, the man, identified as Utobo, bought a Mercedes Benz Sports Utility Vehicle using the proceeds from his business.

Popular comedian Mama Uka shared a video of the man on Facebook.

The man, who said he started his business at 12, hails from Amufu, Enugu Ezike in Enugu State.

He revealed that he trained his wife at university with his palm wine-tapping business.

He also said he currently taps 56 trees and climbs trees for 19 hours every day.
