Nigerian rapper, songwriter, and CEO of the YBNL Nation record label, Olamide Gbenga Adedeji, simply called Olamide, has revealed why he established his record label and started signing new singers.

In an interview with Apple Music’s Ebro Darden, the YBNL boss said it was due to excessive money.

According to him, his money was getting too much, so he decided to give back to the community by spending it on young artists.

“I just started stacking up money, and the money was becoming too much for me. I’m like, Yo, I don’t have anything to do with all this money; mehn, I need to sign new guys. Let me spend money on people, you know.

“It is just like my own little way of giving back to the community,” he said.

Asake, who is currently making waves, is signed to Olamide’s YBNL Nation. The label previously signed Adekunle Gold, Lil Kesh, Chinko Ekun, Young Jonn, and Pheelz.
