Mothers who gave birth through CS don't know pain of childbirth - Kenyan man claims 1

A Kenyan man has incited outrage on social media after sharing an unpopular opinion about women who undergo Caesarean Sections (CS) during childbirth.

The computer scientist tweeted that women who gave birth via the caesarean section “don’t know the pain of giving birth”. According to him, they didn’t “labour hard enough” for their children and hence do not love them as much as women who gave birth normally.

He said that because the women were given anaesthetic medicines to put them to sleep during the procedure, they only know surgery pain.

His tweet reads, “UNPOPULAR OPINION: Mothers who gave birth through cesarean section(CS) don’t know the pain of giving birth. They didn’t labor enough for the child hence they don’t really love their children. They only know surgery pain which is reduced by anesthetic drugs. Anyway, what do I know?”

The tweet generated outrage online, with netizens criticizing the man for belittling the pain of childbirth, whether natural or not.

@Pain_254: “CS is a nightmare. One of the most complicated surgeries, they have to cut 6 layers of flesh about 5 inches deep and 6 inches the C-section. Some mamas fail to get off the anaesthesia and die, with a lot of risks that come after. Do you know you can’t have CS more than twice?”

@Wesley_Kibande: “Man is getting cooked.”

@rieslingdarling: “Dude, get some sense. My mum laboured for over a day, I was her first born, until she had to get CS. That CS wound takes 8 weeks or even more to heal. You can’t cough, sneeze or move easily because the stitches can easily come off.”

@maggiewangari19: “I have experienced both and you know what triggered Lupus it’s Cs I had . I am now terminally ill cause of Cs. So please stop thinking so low.”
