Jason Njoku, the CEO of Iroko TV, has stirred online discussions after gifting his son, Obi a Nokia 5310 feature phone for his 11th birthday.
Njoku, who is married to Nollywood actress Mary Njoku, shared images of the birthday celebration and the gift on X.

He explained that Obi had been requesting a phone, and despite the numerous appeals, the family chose the no-application Nokia 5310 for now.

In his post, Njoku mentioned, “Yesterday was Obi’s 11th birthday 🥰. He’s been asking for a phone, so we got him this one—a no-apps Nokia 5310. 🤣 He can get a smartphone when he turns 16. 🙏🏾”
While many online users extended birthday wishes to Obi, others praised Njoku for his thoughtful approach to parenting.
