The Kevin Gates jump is a captured image of American rapper, Kevin James, jumping mid-air during a concert on September 30, 2021. Kevin Gates, whose real name is Kevin Jerome Gilyard, is a singer, songwriter and entrepreneur who is currently signed to Bread Winners’ Association, in partnership with Atlantic Records.

Gates has several mixtapes, including Stranger Than Fiction (2013), By Any Means (2014), and Luca Brasi 2 (2014), all of which peaked in the top 40 on the Billboard 200 chart. In January 2016, he released his debut studio album, Islah, which peaked at number two on the US Billboard 200 chart.
The rapper posted a photo of himself on stage mid-jump as he soared through the air. Gates wrote in the caption: “Oh Ye who Believe – Gifted – dive in the crowd no safety harness #HealingExperience #iamHim #KhazaTour.” He was performing in Kansas City when the photo was taken.
Gates, who is known to have a chubby figure, was noticeably fit in the photo. The photo elicited comments such as “Kevin Gates got slim and been actin (sic) different ever since” and “There’s absolutely no Kevin Gates song that requires dis manoeuvre but to do it in Kansas City in a small venue is da craziest shit”.

According to Complex, the 35 years old rapper’s photo was taken six months after he was involved in a serious car crash. In March 2021, a woman driving a Prius ran a red light and smashed into Gates’ Lamborghini SUV. The impact spun Gate’s truck out of control before stopping nearly 100 feet from the initial impact. Thankfully, both Gates and the woman were unhurt in the accident.
