Popular Nigerian singer, Ruger has stirred online reactions after criticizing his former record label, Jonzing Records, owned by D’Prince.

This came after a fan mocked his music since leaving the label.

In January 2024, Ruger, known for his hit “Asiwaju,” announced the launch of his own record label, Blown Boy Entertainment, marking his departure from Jonzing Records.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Ruger had accused D’Prince of using his money to support other new artists while keeping him uninformed.

On June 7, 2024, Ruger promoted his new song on his verified Instagram page.

A fan, identified as Efekoga, was unimpressed by the song and taunted Ruger by claiming he hasn’t had any hit song since leaving Jonzing Records.

Efekoga wrote, “No hit since you left Jonzing.”

Ruger quickly responded, pointing out that Jonzing Records hasn’t produced any hit since his departure either.

He replied, “No hit for Jonzing since I left Jonzing.”
