May Edochie, entrepreneur and wife to controversial Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, has finally given her verdict and taken a stance against her husband’s second marriage.
In a lengthy post on her Instagram page, the mother of four stated that she understands that polygamy is a valid choice for certain individuals, as even some religions and traditions allow it, to which she has nothing against.
“Beyond all the unnecessary facades, Polygamy is a life choice and no one should be compelled to accept it. It is something I think all parties involved should embrace willingly, and it’s okay for anyone who chooses it. Some religions|traditions allow polygamy and I have nothing against it,” she said.
However, May Edochie then went on to insist that such views do not align with her faith and “family values.” She also added that she would not be “numbered as a wife”, or “cajoled” into the polygamous lifestyle that her husband, Yul, has chosen.
“The ability to accept or tolerate challenges and problems in life is a virtue, and should not be misconstrued. There is no point making an already bad situation worse, hence the need to remain calm is crucial. However, I am ABSOLUTELY certain that I will not be NUMBERED as a wife or be cajoled to accept a practice that does not align with my faith and family values.”

May Edochie’s remarks come days after her birthday ceremony, which her husband attended. During the event, Yul went up to his wife on stage where he hugged and showered praises on her.
While the actor eulogised his wife, a member of the audience exclaimed, “what God has joined together,” to which he promptly responded, “let no man put asunder.”

Recall that the actor had caused a social media storm in April after announcing his second marriage to his colleague, Judy Austin, as well as the birth of their son.
When the news broke, May Edochie reacted by calling God’s judgement on the new couple, and despite her under-the-radar appearance since then, it would seem her stance has not wavered.
