Recipe Ingredients:

  • Three cups of flour
  • 1 ½ cups of sugar
  • Four eggs
  • One cup of butter
  • Two tablespoons of baking powder /soda
  • One cup of milk
  • Two teaspoons of vanilla extract

Recipe Instructions:

How to make cake:

  • In a bowl, pour in your butter and sugar and mix well until it becomes smooth and you can no longer see the sugar. You can use a hand mixer or mix it with your wooden spoon if you don’t have a mixer available. Then once it is fluffy, add in your eggs and mix thoroughly. Beat until it turns white and creamy.
  • In another bowl, sift in your flour and baking powder and gradually add the butter and egg mixture while turning. Make sure to turn in only one direction so that the cake doesn’t turn to bread.
  • Add your milk to the mix and turn. The essence of the milk is to make the cake batter soft and fluffy. Also, add in your vanilla essence or any other extract you want to add. The essence added gives the cake a wonderful smell.
  • Grease up your baking pan with a bit of butter and some flour to prevent the cake from sticking to the pan when it is done baking. If you have some parchment paper, you can also add it to the pan.
  • Pour in the batter and put in the oven—about 30 to 35minutes at 180 degrees. To check if the cake is made, take a clean knife, stick it into the middle of the cake and bring it out. If it’s still wet, the cake is not yet done, but it is done if it comes out dry.
  • Bring the cake out of the oven and remove them from the pan. Allow it to cool for a while before decorating the cake if you want to. You can eat the cake without the decoration or with decorations on it. It depends on what you are baking the cake for. If you are baking for an event, proceed to decorate it. But if you are baking it for home consumption, there might not be any need for decoration.
