A Nigerian woman, identified as @Chi_Funmii on X (formerly Twitter), has shared a deeply personal account of how a close acquaintance lost her marriage after claiming she had outgrown her husband.
The story, which sparked conversations online, reflects a pattern of family breakdowns which the woman herself acknowledged.

The lady, whose name was not disclosed, had her husband support her in building her business by securing a loan from his workplace.
He went as far as helping her manage the business, assisting with repairs, and providing moral support, including regular lunches. Even the son’s class teacher, who narrated the story, was not left out of his kind gestures.

However, the marriage started to falter when the woman became increasingly distant in managing the home, citing exhaustion from work.
Despite efforts from her husband and involvement of family members to address the situation, tensions continued to rise. The pivotal moment came during a heated argument when her husband reminded her of his role in helping secure the loan for her business.
In response, the wife asserted that she had repaid every kobo of the loan, dismissing any credit her husband sought for his contribution.
In a conversation with her son’s teacher, she vehemently defended her stance, suggesting that her husband was simply jealous of her growth. Despite several advice to show more gratitude, she remained firm in her belief that she had outgrown him.
