On the international scene, Hakimi has represented the Morocco national team since 2016. He has played in several major tournaments, including the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cups.

Abouk and Hakimi reportedly met in Madrid in 2018, and their relationship quickly became public knowledge.

They were often seen together in public, and both of them shared photos of each other on their social media accounts.

While Hakimi’s career continued to thrive, with him representing Morocco in the 2022 World Cup, Abouk supported him every step of the way.

However, rumours of a troubled relationship started to circulate and a storm hit when Hakimi faced assault allegations from a Paris-based investigative judge, three years into their marriage on March 3, 2023.

Abouk revealed that she had already decided to end things with Hakimi before the assault charges emerged.

The actress sought to quell the rumours and speculation surrounding their separation, clarifying her lack of involvement or knowledge about the events linked to the allegations.

Facing a crossroads, Abouk decided to trust the justice system, but she also stated that her husband is innocent.

She wrote on Instagram, “The accusations are false. He is calm and is making himself available to the authorities. After having decided to legally separate and to stop living together whilst awaiting the divorce procedure, which you can imagine, on top of the pain brought about by the separation, as well as having to accept the sadness that a failed project, which I gave my body and soul, brings, I was supposed to face up to this disgraceful act?

“I needed time to come to terms with this shock. One must trust the legal process, especially considering the gravity of the accusation. Nonetheless, in my life, I always have been, and always will be, on the side of victims.”

Speaking about her divorce from Elle in April 2023, Abouk stated that she is not the first and will not be the last to walk this path, noting that she is taking her time.

Hakimi and his mother
She said, “When you separate, you restructure your life, but it’s not anything special either: you’ve to take iron out of the matter. It’s true that, with two children, it is emotionally complicated, but I’m not the first and I will not be the last. The important thing is that I have the peace of mind of having tried and done everything I had to do. Some decisions cannot be made overnight. For me, it’s a premise not to rush in moments of crisis.”

As they navigated the tumultuous waters of divorce, the couple faced another obstacle: Hakimi’s wealth. It was revealed that Abouk reportedly demanded half of Hakimi’s wealth and fortune during the divorce proceedings.

But it reported that Hakimi supposedly has no assets because his wealth was under his mother’s name, leaving him with no assets in his name.

This revelation threatened to complicate their legal battle and potentially prolong the court process.

Online reports revealed that Abouk was demanding $11 million from her ex-husband while Hakimi was offering her $2.2 million.

Following this revelation, the Spanish model filed a lawsuit against her ex-husband for fraud and mismanagement of their marital assets.

However, the report of Hakimi transferring his assets to his mother has since been flagged as false.
