FA Cup: Manchester United beat Liverpool 4-3 to qualify for semi-final 1

Manchester United ended Liverpool’s quest for a quadruple in Jurgen Klopp’s final season, winning 4-3 in extra time thanks to Amad Diallo’s goal in their FA Cup quarterfinal clash.

The Ivorian winger was sent off for a second yellow card after taking his jersey off in celebration at the end of a wild 120 minutes that sent United into the semi-final.

Erik ten Hag’s team had to mount late comebacks twice to advance to the last four.

Alexis MacAllister and Mohamed Salah scored two goals in three minutes at the conclusion of the first half to swing the game Liverpool’s way after Scott McTominay gave United the lead.

Antony’s first goal at Old Trafford in over a year kept United alive and sent the game into extra time.

Once again, Liverpool took the lead when Harvey Elliott’s deflected strike reached the bottom corner.

Marcus Rashford, who had squandered a golden opportunity to win the match deep into injury time, made atonement by blasting home to level it 3-3.

Diallo then scored only his second goal for United in extra time, following a fast counter-attack from a Liverpool corner led by the outstanding Alejandro Garnacho.
