Liverpool were 3-1 victors over Southampton in a Premier League clash at Anfield on Saturday.
The Reds had Darwin Nunez to thank for his double as Jurgen Klopp’s men rose to sixth place on the table, pending the results of tomorrow’s matches.

Roberto Firmino, who has been left out of Brazil’s World Cup squad, opened the scoring for Liverpool in the sixth minute.
Southampton were back in it with a leveller in the ninth minute via Che Adams after James Ward-Prowse, also left behind by England, assisted.
Nunez then slotted in a second after Harvey Elliott found him in the Southampton area in the 21st minute. The Uruguayan made no mistake putting the ball in the back of the net.

The World Cup-bound striker then grabbed Liverpool’s third goal in the 42nd minute after Andy Robertson’s assist.
Southampton are now 19th with 12 points.

Manchester City vs Brentford
Manchester City surprisingly fell at home to Brentford. The loss, music to Arsenal’s ears, came as shocking as Ivan Toney put his side ahead in the eighth minute of added time. Toney had opened the scoring for Brentford in the 16th minute before Phil Foden levelled for City in the second minute of added time before half-time.
City have now slid two points behind Arsenal in the race for the top spot, and the gap may stretch to five if the Gunners beat Wolverhampton Wanderers later today.

Brentford are 10th with 19 points.
AFC Bournemouth vs Everton
Alex Iwobi could do nothing to help as his side lost 3-0 to Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.
The Cherries whipped Frank Lampard’s men for the second time this week after a 4-1 victory over them in the Carabao Cup during the week.

Bournemouth are now 13th with 16 points, while Everton are 17th with 14 points.
Nottingham Forest vs Crystal Palace
Nottingham Forest won 1-0 at the City Ground. Crystal Palace could have had a point, but Wilfried Zaha lost a penalty in the 41st min.
Crystal Palace are 11th with 19 points, while Forest are 18th with 13 points.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Leeds United
Rodrigo Bentancur scored two goals in two minutes to ensure Spurs survived Leeds’ scare at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Tottenham are third with 29 points, while Leeds are 14th with 15 points.
West Ham United vs Leicester City
Leicester City continued their resurgence, beating their hosts 0-2.
