Tottenham Hotspur recovered from a rather dull start to grab all three points against a stubborn Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Tottenham Stadium on Saturday.
The Spurs defence was called into action severally by the Wolves attack.

Despite Antonio Conte’s side having most of the possession, they had only one attempt at goal when Wolves already had 12.
On one occasion, new signing, Goncalo Guedes snaked through the Spurs defence but saw his shot go wide, and on another, he held his head in his hands as another shot from outside the area also went wide.
Debutant Matheus Nunes thought he had handed Wolves the lead in the 41st minute but his header went half an inch wide of the target with Hugo Lloris unable to react in the Tottenham goal.
Spurs quickly responded, forcing Jose Sa to make a save from a Harry Kane header after Ivan Perisic floated a cross into the box in the 44th minute.

The second half was livelier for Spurs as they were quick to show their brilliance in attack with Kane’s header beating Sa and hitting the bar after a Dejan Kulusevsky cross in the 50th minute.
Heung Min Son saw his shot crash against the bar as the Spurs fans got more and more frustrated. However, it was a sign of things to come for Conte’s men.
In the 64th minute, Perisic’s corner found Kane, who headed into the net after evading Nathan Collins. The goal was his 250th for the club and 185th in the Premier League.
Richarlison, who was a second-half substitute for Spurs, made a brilliant run, beating three defenders in the process but could not tuck his attempt away.
Wolves had their chances as well but could not find the back of the net.

The victory takes Tottenham to the top of the table ahead of Arsenal and Manchester City, who will play later today and on Sunday respectively.
