The Hammers were 3-1 winners at the London Stadium to end the Gunners’ hope of winning the trophy.

Although Arsenal saw most of the ball, it was West Ham who threatened to score.

Ben White put the ball in the back of his own net from a Jarod Bowen corner in the 16th minute. Aaron Ramsdale, playing his first match for Mikel Arteta’s men since September, protested as his shirt was pulled by Tomas Soucek. His appeal was waved off, and the goal was allowed to stand.

The Gunners continued to be ineffective in attack as the first half ended with West Ham in front.

West Ham doubled their lead five minutes into the second half through Ghanaian winger Mohammed Kudus. Nayef Aguerd brilliantly switched play from left to right, allowing Kudus to bring the ball and drive his shot between Gabriel Magalhaes’ legs and past Ramsdale.

Bowen added the third in the 60th minute with the game looking out of grasp for Arsenal.
