Borussia Dortmund forward, Karim Adeyemi, has made an astonishing claim after scoring a solo goal to help his team edge past Chelsea in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League knockout round tie.
The tightly-fought match was without a goal for more than an hour until Karim Adeyemi took matters into his own hands.
The Nigerian-born star saw an opportunity on the break, sprinting the length of the field, running past both Enzo Fernandez and goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga to score the winning goal for Dortmund.
Speaking after the game, the Bundesliga forward told a journalist who cared to ask the reason he is so strong and fast is that he eats a lot of African dishes.
The youngster also revealed that he got good genes from his Nigerian father.
When pressed further by the journalist about which of the African dishes he eats, Adeyemi revealed that he enjoys eating ‘fufu’, a swallow food that is peculiar to Eastern and Southern Nigeria.
Karim Adeyemi was born to a Nigerian father who is from the ancient city of Ibadan in present-day Oyo State.
