Nigerian superstars have continued to put Nigeria on the map of international prominence, with several taking home major prizes at the 2023 African Muzik Magazine Awards (Afrimma).

The Afrimma award ceremony took place on Sunday, September 17, at the famous Meyerson Symphony Centre in Dallas, Texas, United States.

The Nigerian artistes beat other stars across Africa in their categories to secure the prized trophy.

Davido’s Timeless won the Afrimma Album of the Year, beating Asake’s Piece of Art, Omah Lay’s Boy Alone Deluxe, and others.

Mavins signee Ayra Starr was named Best Female West Africa, beating Tems, Tiwa Savage, Ammarae, Gyakie, and others.

Timaya received the Afrimma Lifetime Achievement Award, while rapper Odumodublvck was named the best newcomer.

Flavour won Best Live Act with KCee, who also received the Afrimma Legendary Award.

Spyro and Tiwa Savage’s Who’s Your Guy? was the best collaboration. Dorcas Shola Fapson, a popular Nollywood actress and Disc Jockey, MS DSF, was named Africa’s Best DJ.

Blaqbone took home the prize for Best Male Rap Act.
