Cristiano Ronaldo signs N95B deal with Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr

Portuguese forward, Cristiano Ronaldo has joined Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr.

The five-time Ballon d’Or signed a two-year deal with the team following his dramatic departure from Manchester United few weeks ago.

The 37-year-old would reportedly earn above N95 billion (£177m) a year playing for the Saudi side.

Announcing the deal via Twitter, AlNassr FC said, “History in the making. This is a signing that will not only inspire our club to achieve even greater success but inspire our league, our nation and future generations, boys and girls to be the best version of themselves. Welcome Ronaldo to your new home Al Nassr FC”

Ronaldo on his part said; “I am fortunate that I have won everything I set out to win in European football and feel now that this is the right moment to share my experience in Asia.”

According to Football Journalist and famous transfer specialist, Fabrizio Romano, MLS side, Sporting Kansas City approached Ronaldo with a huge deal, but the former Real Madrid star picked Al Nassr instead.

Following the deal, Ronaldo would link up with Cameroonian forward, Vincent Aboubakar, who currently plays as a striker at the Riyadh-based club.

Ronaldo’s exit from Manchester United

Skabash recalls that Cristiano Ronaldo left Manchester United in November after a row at the club.

The club confirmed this in a statement via its website.

The statement read: “Cristiano Ronaldo is to leave Manchester United by mutual agreement, with immediate effect.

“The club thanks him for his immense contribution across two spells at Old Trafford, scoring 145 goals in 346 appearances, and wishes him and his family well for the future.

“Everyone at Manchester United remains focused on continuing the team’s progress under Erik ten Hag and working together to deliver success on the pitch.”

Ronaldo slams Man U, Ten Hag in exclusive interview

This comes days after the release of a tell-all exclusive with Piers Morgan.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner spilled his guts in an exclusive interview with broadcaster Piers Morgan, released on Sunday.

Ronaldo was critical of Ten Hag, the club, and former interim boss Ralf Rangnick about their football approach and how he felt concerning their managerial performances.

“I don’t have respect for him [Ten Hag] because he doesn’t show respect for me,” Ronaldo said.

According to him, “Manchester United tried to force me out.”

“Not only the manager but the other two or three guys around the club [at the senior executive level].  I felt betrayed. I don’t care, people should listen to the truth.
