A Nigerian youth corps member has garnered widespread accolades on social media for her public-spirited effort in renovating the dilapidated classroom of a secondary school in Suleja, Niger State.
After witnessing the poor condition of the classroom during her initial visit, she was so distressed that students could be allowed to learn under such an environment. This, she said, caused her sleepless nights.

In the video, she recounted her challenging experience:
“Going to NYSC last year was a tough decision, but I felt compelled to do it, especially for my mother. I still find it hard to understand what drives some people to NYSC,” she humorously remarked.
Assigned to teach Biology at Madalla Secondary School in Suleja, she was moved by the state of her SS1A classroom and resolved to make a difference. “I entered this class and knew I had to do something. And guess what? I DID IT! Thanks to my incredible friends and the supportive Rotarians around me. You all mean the world to me,” she celebrated.
She acknowledged the difficulties faced during the renovation: “Was it easy? No. Was it a challenge? Yes. Did I give up at some point? Yes. Did it take my time? Yes. But I did it anyway!”
Her goals were two-fold: to create a conducive learning environment and to set up a mini-workshop to instill a sense of accountability and responsibility among the students.
“Nobody or government can save you unless you take responsibility for what you can do to help yourself,” the corps member emphasized in her message.
The video, along with her heartfelt note, has received significant attention online, with many expressing admiration and support in the comments.
