Churchill Olakunle’s first wife
At the birthday celebration of Tonto Dikeh at the Escape Nightclub, Lagos, in 2014, the celebrant and Churchill spoke for the first time. Six months after, they began dating. At the time, Dikeh was often flaunting lavish gifts, which she ascribed to “Mr X’s” kindness and devotion to her.
After spending a lot of time hiding from the public, Dikeh revealed Churchill as “Mr X” in 2015. Dikeh subsequently became pregnant, and on August 29, 2015, they were married in Dikeh’s village of Rumukani, Rumukwuta, Rivers State.
However, their marriage acrimoniously ended in 2017. They had a contentious divorce after their separation, with each party levelling several accusations against the other and using foul language in public. The pair divorced based on infidelity and physical abuse.
Despite having a kid together, King Andre, from their failed relationship, the ex-lovers still do not speak to each other to this day, other than throwing the occasional jab on social media.
Churchill sued Dikeh for the YouTube recordings she posted in 2019 on her channel. The actress attacked her ex-husband in the aforementioned video, calling him a liar and accusing him of being both a ritualist and an internet scammer. She also accused him of lying to her that he was former president Olusegun Obasanjo’s son when he was not.
Dikeh accused her ex-husband of cheating on her with Rosy Meurer, his Personal Assistant. She claimed that he always bought gifts for his PA and took her on trips.
Their feud seemed to die down for a while but in February 2023 the actress accused him of being a deadbeat dad. The actress took to her Instagram page with screenshots where she made several instances of Churchill’s negligence and questioned his role as their son’s father.
She alleged that Churchill and his family members have occasionally mentioned winning a child custody battle in court, but he has done little in caring for the child. She described Churchill as a liar while noting that she won the custody battle against him in court. Dikeh also accused Churchill of not checking up on their son regularly and only paying for his child support four times in seven years.
In response to her allegations, Churchill claimed that his ex-wife restricted all access to their son, and then subsequently posted evidence of payment of some bills for both her and their child. He noted that he has made significant contributions to her and their son’s life. In another Instagram post, he posted a voice recording allegedly of Dikeh’s voice, saying she would have poisoned him if she had to stay married to him any longer.
