The Deputy Controller of Corrections, Michael Benson, has shed light on the circumstances around cross-dresser Bobrisky’s jail term at the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Kirikiri.

Testifying at the House of Representatives hearing on the alleged bribery scandal involving the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Nigerian Correctional Service, Benson disclosed that Bobrisky was held in a special, lone cell due to his female features.
“Bobrisky has female features, which is why we kept him in a special, lone cell,” Benson stated.
Bobrisky, arrested on April 3, 2024, for abusing the naira, spent 10 days in the P ward room 2 of the facility before being moved to the lone cell.
Bobrisky regained his freedom on August 5, 2024, after serving his six-month sentence.
