Seven aspirants have stepped down for Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the ongoing All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primaries in Abuja.
Skabash.com has learnt that the list of the aspirants who have stepped down so far include:
- Godswill Akpabio, former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs
- Governors Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti)
- Abubakar Badaru (Jigawa)
- Senator Ibikunle Amosun
- Senator Ajayi Borrofice
- Dimeji Bankole
- Uju Ohanenye.

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has urged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to vote for a presidential candidate with the potential to secure victory in the 2023 general elections.
The president made the statement during his speech on Wednesday, June 8, at the venue of the special convention of the APC.
Buhari pointed out that the main task of the National Working Committee (NWC) was to ensure unity of purpose among party members, Vanguard reported.
He said delegates engaged in the voting exercise should abide by transparency, due process and laws and regulations of the party.
”My fellow party members and compatriots, I commend you for your various roles and contributions to the successful conduct of the various APC primaries across the nation. I commend the party stakeholders, officials, organs and the Abdullahi Adamu-led NWC,’ he said.
”I commend your efforts in organising party exercises and urge you not to rest on our achievements so far. Now we have a big task ahead: the special convention for the presidential primary.
Buhari advised aspirants to display sportsmanship, noting that in every content there are bound to be winners and losers.
In another news, the national chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Adamu, told party members to remain united. He stated that the APC can only succeed when its house is in order, according to Daily Trust.
The party leader also advocated that the next APC presidential candidate must be someone with the capacity to boost the nation’s economy and deliver good governance.
